The scheme is designed to help small businesses access vital software.

Eligible businesses are able to access a discount of up to 50% on the costs of approved software, worth up to £5,000. Yet, as it currently exists, the scheme falls short of its full potential. Research shows the huge value in expanding the scheme, both in terms of eligible businesses and available software.

With eligible businesses being able to access a discount of nearly 50% on the costs of approved software, worth up to £5,000. Yet, as it currently exists, the scheme falls short of its full potential. Research shows the huge value in expanding the scheme, both in terms of eligible businesses and available software.

Right now, only small businesses who have between 5 and 249 employees are eligible to apply, which excludes over 750,000 small businesses who have fewer than 5 employees. Plus, only three types of software are included under the scheme: Customer Relationship Management (CRM), e-commerce, and accountancy software. Small businesses need more options.
